Tesla Delivered More than 480,000 cars in the second quarter of this year, an increase of more than 120,000 cars over the first quarter, an indication that the company is still able to attract new buyers for its electric cars despite the decline in the American market.
The company said Thursday that it built 451,758 vehicles in the second quarter, including 442,936 Model 3 sedans and Model Y SUVs. It delivered 467,762 of those vehicles, while the remaining 12,364 were “other models” — which include the Cybertruck, Model S sedans and Model X SUVs for final production. This was the company’s best second quarter in terms of initial delivery numbers ever, and easily exceeded Wall Street expectations.
It’s Tesla’s best quarter in terms of total sales since the third quarter of 2025, when it shipped nearly 500,000 cars worldwide. While the company still faces an uphill battle to halt a two-year trend of declining overall sales, second-quarter results show that Tesla is finding ways — through geographic expansion and cheaper versions of the Model 3, Model Y and Cybertruck — to buck the trend.
