the iPhone Photography Awards 2026 They are in their 19th year of finding the best photos taken with iPhone cameras. I’ve collected some of my favorites from the winning photos, but be sure to view all the winners on IPPAwards website.

Grand Prize: Robin Jensen

Robyn Jensen’s photo of an erupting volcano in Guatemala at night is a challenge for iPhone cameras.

If an iPhone photography contest doesn’t include a blatant photo of a cat, is it real? American photographer Arnold Plotnick captured a still look at this cat in Amsterdam.

It’s an easy lesson to forget as a photographer: Make sure you look up. This combination of perspective and timing gets an honorable mention in the Animals category.

This little boy playing in the water is perfectly framed by the arch of the tree behind him. His light skin contrasting with his dark surroundings attracts more attention.

Photography is often a matter of knowing where the light is and hoping to get lucky. It’s not clear whether the photographer knew the sun would illuminate this break in the grove of trees or if it was just an accident, but the photo makes you wonder.

Other – Second place: Shan Chen

This composition by Shan Chen looks almost like the setting of a Wes Anderson film, evoking a time when train travel was more elegant (or kitschy).

Puerto Rican photographer Carlos Rubin took advantage of this woman’s contrasting blue swimsuit and orange hat to create an image that goes beyond just a snapshot.
