Latest Willy Wonka The project that’s coming your way is not a concert film. Wonka’s Golden Ticket is a competition reality series produced by the Wonka Company Netflix Based on Roald Dahl’s 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, it follows a boy named Charlie Bucket and his grandfather as they, along with 11 other contestants, gain entry to Willy Wonka’s famous chocolate factory. The streamer released a trailer on Tuesday, marking the classic film’s 55th anniversary.

Wonka’s Golden Ticket, Netflix’s latest Roald Dahl-inspired project follows Buying the Roald Dahl Story Company in 2021will follow 12 Golden Ticket winners (and their chosen partners) as they explore elaborate sets and face a variety of challenges inspired by Dahl’s book. There can only be one winner, and the prize will be, as Netflix says in a statement, “life-changing.”
Actor Rusty Goffe, who played the Oompa Loompa in the 1971 film, will reprise the role — orange skin, green hair and all — when Wonka’s Golden Ticket premieres Sept. 23 on Netflix.
