Notion Mail shuts down amid proxy takeover


Productivity company Notion will shut down its email product, Notion Mail, on September 22. The company said it will discontinue its email inbox in favor of offering its own AI agent. She noted that users were increasingly handing over control of their email to agents, and not opening their inbox at all.

“As Notion agents have become more capable, we’ve seen more users turn their email workflow over to them. Today, more than half of Notion Mail users manage emails without ever opening their inbox. So, we’ll all be using agents to run your inbox,” the company said. Share on X.

Notion Mail is linked to Gmail, which means all emails in your inbox will remain intact. However, users will need to export drafts and scheduled emails if they want to keep them. Users can export snippets and auto-naming instructions and use them elsewhere, the company said, and stressed that Notion’s email-based agents will continue to work after Notion Mail shuts down.
