Trade-offs between QLED, OLED and RGB mini-LED
QLED
QLED TVs, or quantum dot TVs, have become popular because they combine tiny LED backlights with quantum dots. A quantum dot is a very small semiconductor particle (usually only 2 to 10 nanometers wide), which allows precise color tuning. QLED TV delivers high brightness, rich colors and powerful performance at large screen sizes.

SQD Mini-LED: Sharper lighting and pixel-level color control
The latest development in the TV color revolution is TCL’s SQD Mini-LED. While other brands lean towards RGB mini-LED, TCL Focus on improving the quantum dot system itself. The goal is to produce a cleaner, more color-rich light source and then use advanced color filters to create the final color at the pixel level. The fact that color is managed at the pixel level, and not across a multi-pixel area, is really important.

Of course, SQD Mini-LED technology does not eliminate all of the limitations of LCD displays. Local dimming, processing, viewing angle and panel quality are not quite perfect. But the promise is clear: color is wider, more reliable and more consistent across the types of content you watch every day, providing a powerful balance between recent advances in TV technology.
