I got a first look at Blueair’s first portable fan. This is where it blows me away

Air technology company Blue Air, manufacturer of CNET Best air purifier overallhe was released AlwaysCool Portable Fan On Tuesday, I got my first look at the device. It measures 2.44 x 2.56 x 7.28 inches and weighs 0.5 pounds, has speeds from 1 to 100, and delivers up to 17 mph of airflow.

Thanks to its 5,200 mAh battery, the fan runs for up to 32 hours at low speed – nearly three times as long as other personal fan models I’ve tried, such as Shark Chill Pills – And up to seven hours at high speed.

The head of the device tilts up to 75 degrees so that you can easily use it as a table fan. Although it is unable to stand upright, it can also be held in your hand or carried on your wrist using the included wrist strap.

The AlwaysCool’s 17 mph speed seems enough to cool you down without being too loud and loud. It’s the same top speed offered by Shark’s ChillPill. But if fast speed is what you’re looking for, the portable fan I tested with the highest reported speed is it Dyson HushJet Mini CoolWhich reaches speeds of 55 mph in boost mode.

The AlwaysCool shines with its low noise level, thanks to Blueair’s HEPASilent technology. According to the company, at maximum speed, the fan’s power is 46 decibels (dB), and it also seems quieter than other portable fans I’ve tested. When I measured it using the Decibel

For example, when I measured the Shark ChillPill, it reached 74.6 dB, and Dyson’s HushJet Mini Cool reached 77.5 dB. For reference, the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) indicates that the typical sound level in urban housing is 50 decibels.

At $60, the AlwaysCool is also less expensive than the ChillPill and Mini Cool. At full price, the HushJet Mini Cool is $100, while the ChillPill is $150. AlwaysCool also comes in three colors (Arctic Sage, Cloud Linen, and Midnight Charcoal), the same number as the HushJet Mini Cool, while ChillPill is available in 10 colors.

With AlwaysCool, you also get a USB-C charging cord and a wrist strap. The device itself is easy to use with just an on/off button and a quick connection to the fan. The LCD screen displays fan speed and battery life.

I think the size of the AlwaysCool could be improved, as it is larger than other portable fans on the market. Its design reminds me of a 16 mph speedster Jessolife Pro 1 Miniwhich measures in at 73.4 dB, but the latter is smaller at 2.17 x 1.97 x 5.59 inches and a bit lighter at 0.4 pounds. However, the Pro1 Mini is $70 at full price, $10 more than the AlwaysCool, which was also 17.7 dB lower than the Pro1 Mini even though they have roughly the same airflow speed.
