T1 Phone PR firm ‘doesn’t help Trump Mobile any more’


If you’ve been following my reporting on Trump Mobile, you’ll know that Trump Mobile does not keep open lines of communication with the media. It doesn’t look like that will change, as the company is no longer working with the long-term media relations firm.

Poplar group Representing Trump Mobile since at least last June, when company co-founder Chris Walker made a statement to… USA Today“T1 phones are proudly made in America,” he insisted at the time. This, of course, is not true, which Even Trump Mobile is admitting now.

I spoke with Walker several times, and he offered to speed up the delivery EdgeI ordered the T1 phone, although we are still waiting. He told me this week that his team “will not help Trump Mobile any further.” He did not know if the company had retained a new public relations firm in Poplar’s place.

Perhaps with the phone launched now, the company doesn’t think it needs to endure the press for much longer. Of course, the extent of this launch remains unclear: a few media outlets own the phone, and at least a couple of people are listening.
