America expects an influx of tourists from all over the world this year 2026 FIFA World Cup. Although we knew it would be a bit crowded with thousands of travelers visiting, I’m not sure anyone could have predicted that it would be as fun as well.
Visitors post their first impressions of the United States and all the unexpected things they discover during their travels. Judging by their evaluations of our fast food, amusement parks, and gas stations, one could say that we Americans take these things for granted.
A German visitor passes by Freddy LA7 On Freddy has posted rave reviews for everything from Wendy’s to Buc-ee’s and Waffle House, which he rates a 10/10, delighting thousands online who love his positive attitude. (He’s also wasting no time, visiting six states in six days before the World Cup.)
We just had our first Waffle House experience at 1am. Great food, great prices, and friendly staff. 10/10, we will be back pic.twitter.com/QHgftpqfoX

Fast food isn’t the only thing Freddy posts about. Fans also love his impressions of the cities he visited.

Indiana is exactly what I dreamed America would be
Small towns, wide open spaces, cornfields, barns, cute houses, restaurants, water towers, friendly people, great food, American flags everywhere, and so much more!
It’s time for the next part of this adventure
Thank you Indiana! pic.twitter.com/Ru5sQYzrgn

Is there another unexpected side effect of coming to the United States for the World Cup while the NBA Finals are underway? Tourists in New York find themselves surrounded by New York sports fans who are so ready for their team to (maybe) win the championship this year, and the enthusiasm is starting to wane. Go, Nyx!
And fans aren’t the only ones getting into Americana. Spanish star Lamine Yamal was spotted shopping at Walmart this week. Men in Blazers shared the video on their TikTok page:
Other fans are bringing their culture to the United States, such as Scottish tourists who wake up their neighbors to the soothing strains of their songs. bagpipe. (Indeed, the Scottish fans, known as the Tartan Army, were going all out Known presence throughout Massachusetts, where the team’s first two games are played.)
There are literally thousands of fans logging their trips around the US during the World Cup, but these are just some of the informative and funny trips we’ve found. Could this tournament be the global unity we need?
