I wasn’t sure how this would work at first, but I came away from the test feeling great. The app opens with a quick window that looks somewhat familiar to anyone who’s tried it ChatGPT Or other chatbot prompts On their phones. The default is a microphone button that you press like an intercom and say – well, anything that comes to mind. Lepro’s AI will give you thoughts like “I’m feeling relaxed” or “Star Wars,” but you’re free to describe any mood or activity (as well as write it down, if you prefer).
I’ve tried everything from “set the lights for lunch” to “I’m in the mood to read”, “give me something quiet”, “now I’m ready for a more active workout”, and many others. The artificial intelligence creates and implements a light pattern that suits it. It doesn’t always work out right, but Lepro wisely has the AI create several different color options, some static and some animated, so I can always find something that works for me.
Lighting voice prompts are an innovative use of artificial intelligence.
For example, the Calm Mood control started with a slow pulse of pastel colors, but I could choose between a glowing pink or a slowly rising path of light blues and greens.
Speaking of lunchtime, I found a white frame with a single aqua flash dancing around the Lepro circles in a delightful way. For active exercise, the light glows with flashes of blue, yellow, and red. Star Wars was more disappointing, but I found a lightsaber color cycle and theme that somehow reminded me of the Death Star.
And yes, I’d be remiss if I didn’t also try “I’m Feeling Stressed,” and “I’m Feeling Miserable,” which offer building patterns of cool colors, or ebbs and flows of warm light, along with more consistent red hue options (which the algorithm seems to use as a general-purpose default).
I really appreciated that the prompts provided multiple options, not just the first option chosen by the AI.
Although the first selection wasn’t usually my favorite, I could always see a pattern created that I liked. The only thing that comes close to this is Govee’s AI-generated lighting robotwhich has many of the same tricks, but no lamp quite like the Lepro’s interesting design.
You can also choose to take or download a photo for inspiration, and the AI will analyze it to produce lighting ideas from the visuals, if that works for you.
The ability to rotate and develop colors into blooming themes is a particularly unique option on this lamp.
The AI prompt mode is my favorite feature of the Lepro table lamp, but it also offers two additional modes.
One section of the app is dedicated to music sync, which uses your phone’s microphone to pick up nearby tunes and deliver different patterns of dancing lights to accompany them. The synchronization works well, especially since the lamp’s intricate design lends itself to imitating a multi-colored disco ball or other imaginative display. It’s enough to take center stage in a dark party room, as long as no one knocks over the delicate lamp.
The music sync of the Lepro lamp worked well enough, aided by the design of the light, which can serve as a charming party light.
There’s also a DIY section, which allows you to set the lights to a specific mode or switch each little LED section to the color and brightness of your choice. It works, but it’s an exhausting process, best left to creative endeavors where you have a fixed idea and plenty of time.
Finally, there are sunrise and sunset modes, which you can program Basic white light To lighten or darken slowly to help with your sleep cycles. You can set schedule times and final brightness levels here, but it’s a minor trick compared to what the rest of the lamp has to offer.
Oh, and another clever thing: Lepro’s TB1 flashlight works with it Alexa and Google Homebut these voice assistants will not be able to do the in-depth customization of the Lepro app.

There are a lot of understandable concerns about low-quality content Generative AI is being extinguished In the world. But here’s one area where AI claims provide a lot of fun with little downside There is no risk in getting jobs.
I would have been annoyed if Lepro had made all of its lighting decisions for me, but by making several suggestions, I was able to find something I liked without spending a lot of time thinking about it. The AI may eventually run out of ideas, but not for any of the moods I tested.
With no subscription and a much lower price than options like IKEA smart bulb, $100Lepro’s TB1 is also competitively priced. The complex design is unique and fits well with the more complex schemes the generative AI has come up with – although you’ll need to be careful in party mode, as the lamp is fragile.
It’s good that Watch Govee get some competitionas well as other home AI that is more useful than not, without significant privacy risks. With back to school just around the corner, the Lepro table lamp would also make a great dorm gift.
