Yes, the Oura Ring 5 is noticeably smaller

This is not Oura ring 5 review. That will come later, once I’ve had enough time to test the new durability and battery life claims, as well as the new software updates that start rolling out today. In the meantime, I wanted to provide an answer to a burning question I’ve seen asked in many Oura episodes Comment sections Online.

Yes, it is smaller and lighter than Oura ring 4. and For the impatient and considering upgrades, I have photo-sized comparisons with the Oura Ring 4 – the regular and ceramic versions – as well as the Oura Ring Gen 3.

note: Size is very important with smart rings. Not only do smart ring makers not follow the standard ring size, but a poor fit can mean inaccurate data or the loss of the ring. Because of the smaller design, Oura has updated its size range again. Even if it’s difficult, and even if you think you already know your Oura Ring size, I highly recommend getting the sizing kit. For example, I went from a size 8 in the Gen 3 to a size 9 in the Oura Ring 4. While the 9 is still my best size in the Oura Ring 5, it is a better fit. If your finger is generally an “in-between” size, you’ll need to know how to hold the test kit for at least 24 to 48 hours, as fingers can swell and shrink with temperature changes. Take it from me: measure your smart ring size twice, and buy it once.
