As artificial intelligence improves, it reveals an empty promise


This week we got a hands-on training alongside Google’s new Gemini AI agent – Spark – from my colleagues David Pearce and Jay Peters. Their takeaways are similar: They’re so effective that they’re scary. Spark knew David’s dog was named Frieda and she knew Jay’s wife’s first name, although neither of them explicitly provided that information to Google. But what is scary for I It’s how all of these things seem geared toward a future of “productivity” that completely misses what needs to be fixed in our world.
