All PlayStation State of Play promotions for June 2026

Tuesday’s State of Play report was full of new announcements from Sony, including our first look at Wolverine game And the big surprise God of War: Luffy. It also showed that Sony is changing its approach to the future of the PlayStation platform and that everyone in the industry is terrified of a release GTA 6.

There were over 20 games featured at the State of Play event, with brand new games revealed and new details for already well-known titles. A notable change from previous years was the lack of updates to live service games. Instead, Sony focused on traditional narrative-driven games, both big-budget and indie.

Last month, Sony’s earnings report revealed that its investment in Bungie was not a success It lost more than $500 million when it acquired the developer. Bungie’s Marathon had a spot on Tuesday’s showcase to showcase its upcoming second season, but it was one of the few live service games featured.

Another very noticeable theme was the apparent avoidance of what could be the biggest game of the decade, GTA 6. The latest entry in the franchise from Rockstar Games is scheduled for release on November 19. The games shown with 2026 release dates were grouped together in September and October. The rest will wait until at least next year.
