Californians finish voting today in the primary election that will determine who will appear on the ballot in November to succeed Gavin Newsom as governor after his two terms at the helm of the state.

Voters are also choosing candidates in the U.S. House of Representatives elections, which will help determine which party will control Congress for the final two years of President Trump’s term.
