After expanding its offerings to include video using The CS-8 is inspired by the old Super 8mm film cameras from Kodak and CanonCamp Snap goes back to its roots. the Camp Snap 2 It’s a sequel to the company’s first screenless point-and-shoot digital camera, which updates the original with a slimmer design, faster performance, filters available right out of the box, and new features that make it easier for kids to use.
The Camp Snap 2 is available starting today through the company’s online store for $69.95, the same price as the original product. Color options moving forward include Stealth Black, Chestnut Brown, Arctic White, Sage Green, and Sunbeam Yellow, but most attractive are five new clear case options, giving the camera a more retro look.
There are no sensor upgrades on the Camp Snap 2, it’s still limited to 8MP, and the camera only takes JPEG images. The priority is for ease of use and sharing rather than facilitating any subsequent processing. If you want a more capable screenless shooting point, you’ll need to upgrade to Camp Snap Pro 16MP camera.
One Pro feature that carried over to the Camp Snap 2 is more bundled filters. There are now six available by default, including the classic, white, and black theme, accessed through a dedicated button. And with the addition of a 30.5mm thread on the lens, you now also have the option of attaching physical filters to enhance your shots even further, although this size is nowhere near as popular as it once was.
Other improvements include a body that is now 15 percent slimmer than the Camp Snap V1 and a battery-saving sleep mode that wakes the camera as soon as you press the shutter button. For parents purchasing the Camp Snap 2 as their child’s first camera, a new Camp Lock feature disables the built-in filters while the memory card door now has a screw making it more difficult to access or accidentally open.
