Waymo Self-driving vehicles They wandered the streets More than a dozen cities. Now the company is opening the doors of its newest fleet to select passengers.
It’s called Ojai (pronounced like “Oh, hello”), and it’s been modified Remember Vehicles are boxier and roomier than a car Jaguar I-Pace Which Waymo has been using for the past few years. Ojai features a flat floor, more legroom and higher ceilings, plus double-sliding doors that give you more space when getting in and out of the car. Overall, the car looks like a roomy truck on the inside.
Ojai is equipped with Sixth generation Waymo driverand is designed to handle extreme weather conditions, including snow — meaning it will be easier for Waymo to expand into more cities. The sixth-generation self-driving technology can detect more details and measure objects in a variety of lighting and weather conditions, according to Waymo.

I got an early flight on the Ojai in San Francisco. Here’s a peek inside.
Ojai is a modified and specially designed vehicle from Chinese EV company Zeekr. It is more spacious than Jaguar I-Pace Which Waymo has been using for the past several years, and it looks a lot like a pickup truck.
The Ojai, like the I-Pace, can seat up to four passengers. But unlike its predecessor, the Ojai could be modified in the future to remove the steering wheel, so someone could eventually sit in the “driver’s” seat as well.
Look at all that legroom. The flat floor makes it easier for you to stretch your legs, too.
Some of the buttons on Ojai include braille, which can be either Useful for blind passengers Who use Waymo to get around.
The little mop chirps on the sensor array. This can help the Ojai overcome difficult weather conditions, such as rain and snow.
The box feels large enough to fit all your groceries or even larger items like a stroller.
You can use the touch screen to play music, adjust the temperature, or contact customer support. Eventually, the Ojai’s steering wheel can be removed to accommodate another passenger.
