Spotify has announced a new feature on Wednesday, which allows listeners to save and share memorable moments from podcast episodes.
You can save an entire episode, timestamp, chapter, or clip and share it with friends on Spotify or other supported social media apps. You’ll be able to edit clips directly in the app, and Spotify will save them to your Spotify library and podcast playlist.
Spotify says the podcasts feature is already rolling out globally to free and premium users on mobile, with availability expanding across more offerings over time. I had yet to see the feature in my Spotify account as of Wednesday afternoon. Spotify hasn’t mentioned which podcasts offer the trim feature, though it appears it’s not available for all shows.
A Spotify representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
To create a clip, click the scissors icon while the podcast is playing. When you’re ready to share, the loop will appear as a video editor, so you can trim it to fit the clip you want. Once you edit it to your liking, you can click Save or Share. When you tap Share, you’ll see more sharing options and you can choose the format you want, whether it’s a chapter, an entire episode, a timestamp, or a clip.
