AT&T is attracting new customers on a budget with its standard Build-A-Plan

The logic behind the lot Phone plans is that people will pay more if it means a lot of features like high-speed data over 5G, mobile hotspot connectivity, international calling, and 4K video streaming. AT&T is a prime example of this: it recently rolled out a new system Elite Plan 2.0which adds more perks and starts at $110 per month.

But not everyone needs all these extras, and with the rising costs of almost everything, many customers don’t want to pay high prices. That’s why AT&T introduced it today Build a planan option on the other end of the plan spectrum.

The new wireless plan is available May 27, and it’s intentionally basic. For $15 per month (plus taxes and fees), you get unlimited talk and text messages and 1GB of high-speed data (which may slow down when the network is congested). That’s it.

If the basic plan doesn’t meet your needs, you can upgrade to 5GB of data for an additional $5 per month or 15GB for $10 per month on top of the base price. And if you realize that getting unlimited data is too much in your comfort zone, you can replace the limited gigabyte options with unlimited options with SD-quality video for an additional $20 per month, or unlimited with 4K video for $35 per month.

Using your phone as a wireless hotspot is not included, but this feature can be added as an optional extra: add $5 for 5GB, $15 for 25GB, or $20 for 50GB of data.

The fully integrated Build-A-Plan will cost $70 per month for unlimited data with 4K video streaming and 50GB of data. This is similar to AT&T Extra 2.0 A plan that guarantees 100GB of high-speed data, has the same 50GB of hotspot data and offers SD-quality video.

Build-A-Plan has no international calling options, no built-in streaming services, and no smartwatch or tablet add-ons. It comes with the standard version of AT&T’s ActiveArmor service to block unwanted calls and protect data.

At launch, the plan is only available as a single line and only to new subscribers who bring their own unlocked eSIM-enabled phone. Customers can either transfer an existing number or get a new number. An AT&T spokesperson said the company will evaluate options to expand access to other customers in the future.

Build-A-Plan is not a prepaid plan; It is a subscription service that customers can cancel at any time without any obligation.
