It’s the big company Google day. Every May, the tech giant hosts developers and media in its hometown of Mountain View, California Google I/ODevelopers conference. Google uses its I/O keynote to showcase the latest projects it’s working on, services and features that will soon migrate to many of the products we all use today, from Android and Google Workspace to Gemini and Google Home.

Ahead of I/O, Google last week announced some new features for Android 17, Android Auto, and Gemini Intelligence– AI features of “the most advanced Android devices”. Plus, it’s a new teaser A laptop platform called Googlebookpowered by Android and Gemini technologies, with new devices from laptop makers including HP, Dell and Lenovo, coming later this year.
Today, we expect to see new task automation features in Gemini, the latest AI models, and perhaps most excitingly, more details about Google. Android XR smart glasseswhich is expected to launch this year from partners including Samsung, Xreal, Warby Parker and Gentle Monster.
WIRED has reporters on the ground at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California, where Google I/O is being held.
