It’s not just you, Google Workspace apps have a new look. Redesigned app icons, It leaked last monthis now being rolled out widely, as we began to notice this morning. Users with the redesigned icons will notice that they now have a gradient appearance that fades from lighter to darker shades, rather than being the same flat tone everywhere, similar to the redesigned Google logo Which was launched a year ago.

Some icons have been converted from a rainbow design to a single color, such as Google Chat, Meet, and Calendar, which may help all icons stand out more from each other — or make them more difficult to recognize. Others haven’t changed as much 9to5Google Notes, such as Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, which have the same general colors and style. like One Reddit user However, it has been noted that the spreadsheet and slide icons have been converted to landscape mode, which is also how most people use both apps.

The Google Drive icon also got a major overhaul with rounded corners (and lost the red spot that used to be in the bottom right corner). A few have also lost their borders, like Google Keep, which is now just a yellow light bulb, rather than a light bulb on a yellow rectangle. As someone who uses Keep frequently, it’s going to take some getting used to discovering a completely different icon look, though I like the overall look of the new one. I also appreciated the cleaner look of the Gmail icon, although it hasn’t changed much compared to the old version.
