Dyson has announced a new bladeless air purifying fan, the first of its kind to include an AI-powered camera to track the location of people in a room. Dyson already uses a combination of Cameras and artificial intelligence in its robotsBut since new Find + Follow this amazing purifier Fixed and without the risk of falling into abandoned socks, here they are used to direct fresh air towards you and to conserve energy by automatically turning off the fan when the room is empty.
Available now in its online and retail stores for $894.99, the Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool is capable of capturing and trapping 99.97 percent of ultrafine particles down to 0.3 microns, including odor-causing particles, allergens and viruses.
It can connect to Wi-Fi, allowing it to be adjusted remotely from the Dyson mobile app, but images captured through the periscope-like camera are only processed by its AI vision system locally, ensuring privacy. It also does not recognize individuals. Only artificial intelligence is used to detect presence, and images are deleted from the camera after being analyzed in real time. Using a camera is a bit like overkill for presence detection only since simpler sensors can accomplish the same thing, but Dyson is known for throwing a lot of engineering into a problem.
The purifier can track people’s movements, so if you’re walking around the kitchen, it will intelligently oscillate to constantly direct airflow in your direction. If there are multiple people in the room, the airflow direction will automatically adjust to oscillate back and forth between them. It can adjust the intensity of airflow when more pollutants are detected, and the Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool is compatible with Matter so it can be integrated into smart home setups including Apple Home and Google Home.
