Yamaha’s 2026 AV receivers add style and Dolby Atmos


Yamaha revealed two new cars Dolby Atmos Receivers, RX300A and RX500A, with support for next-gen gaming consoles and 8K.

The $400 RX300A is a direct replacement for the RX-V385, and adds a number of features, including Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual:X, 4K/120Hz Compatibility, dual subwoofer outputs and Bluetooth Multipoint.

The company says the RX300A 5.2-channel receiver features improved build quality — including a center-mounted fifth foot and a distinctive boxy design — and an updated on-screen display. Unusually, Yamaha says the receiver can be configured as a 3.2.2 channel system, but this is supposed to consist of only front speakers plus two subwoofers. The 7.2-channel RX500A adds DTS:X and Zone 2 support and built-in Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity, enabling music streaming via Spotify ConnectAirPlay 2, Google Cast, and more.

All three systems will be available starting in June.
