The latest generation of 360 Vis Nav delivers massive suction power of up to 65W, allowing it to pull dirt, dust and pet hair out of carpets for good measure. In her short time testing the robot, my colleague Jennifer Pattison Toohey said “Dyson demolished a pile of dry oatmeal in seconds,” she said, adding that she briefly worried that it might absorb the tassels on her large rug (it didn’t). In comparison, many robotic vacuum cleaners – incl Dyson’s new Spot+ Scrub AI device, $1,200 – Requires multiple passes to completely eliminate the same type of mess on the floor.
What’s more, the robovac’s compact D-shaped design and the location of the ultra-soft brush allow it to dig into edges and corners more effectively than many more rounded robot vacuums, while its lower profile allows it to easily reach under most beds and sofas. The spacious 500ml bin also means you’ll likely won’t need to empty it as often, while Dyson’s built-in handle and brilliant quick release button make removing said bin a relatively simple task when it’s time to do so.
Despite its undeniable power, it’s worth noting that the 360 Vis Nav lacks some features found in some of its more modern competitors. Although its navigation system worked well enough during our tests, it lacks AI-assisted obstacle avoidance and doesn’t come with a self-emptying platform. Battery life is also relatively short at around 65 minutes per charge. However, if your top priority is to quickly remove dust, dirt, and pet hair from carpets without requiring multiple passes, the Dyson is still an option worth considering, especially at this discounted price.
