The report says Disney is looking to create a unified “super app.”

Top Disney executives will likely combine Disney+ with other apps like Disneyland Resort and Disney Cruise Line Navigator to create one unified app, according to a report from Disney. Bloomberg.

Sources said these discussions were at an early stage, but they are referring to this as a “super implementation” internally.

Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro, who took over for Bob Iger earlier this year, has confirmed his intention to do so simplification Disney Experience, making the relationship between Disney+ and Disney Parks even more cohesive.

“Disney+ becomes the core relationship between Disney and its fans, the place where everything comes together,” D’Amaro said on Disney’s quarterly earnings call this week.

The project is a bit reminiscent of Elon Musk’s desire to turn X into “Everything app“Like the Chinese WeChat app (although X recently launched an app Standalone chat appwhich is counterintuitive). But rather than encompassing literally everything like payments and messaging, Disney’s ambition to bring all of its mobile platforms under one app is a bit more feasible, though still a bit surprising.

It’s possible that D’Amaro wants to increase interest in the parks by putting Mickey Mouse in front of more Disney+ subscribers. It’s worth noting that Disney+ subscribers and visitors to Disney parks aren’t necessarily the same customers, which could be awkward if the Disney+ app is bogged down with cruise ads.
