Blink raises its budget bell to 2K

The wired version is Blink’s first wired-only buzzer and the first that doesn’t require a Blink Sync module (although it can work with one). Previous Blink doorbells It’s based on the micro hub, and can be wired or run on AA lithium batteries – as does the new 2K battery-powered doorbell. Removing the batteries allows for a smaller form factor, but also means you don’t have a backup in case of a power outage.

AI-powered video descriptions are cloud-based and require one New AI levels in Blink. There’s a Basic AI subscription for $6.99 per month / $69.99 per year for one device (with a first-year deal of $49.99); If you have multiple Blink devices, there’s the Plus AI sub, which covers all your cameras for $19.99 per month/$199.99 per year (currently $149.99 for the first year).

If you don’t want AI descriptions, Blink still offers them Standard plans Starting at $3.99 per month or $39.99 per year per camera, which includes 60 days of cloud video storage and on-device person alerts. Without a subscription, you’ll only get a live view, two-way audio, and motion alerts.
