Paper Pure Tablet review: Back to basics

I like that the ReMarkable Paper Pure has retained the thicker side bezel, which makes it more manageable to hold The most expensive Paper Pro and Paper Transfer Pro Don’t have it. It’s a perfect resting place for my thumb to grip and start writing, and it responds to cycles, so you can use it comfortably whether you’re right- or left-handed (the pen will only be attached to the long side without the thick bezel, which is a little uncomfortable for left-handed users). It has a fast response time and smooth writing experience and, like the ReMarkable models before it, feels incredibly paper-like with a touch of texture and resistance without feeling slow or heavy when writing on it. ReMarkable says the writing experience from the Paper Pro was carried over to the device, and the two felt similar to type on. Besides the pen-to-tablet experience, using these two devices feels very different with the difference in weight and size, especially when you hold the device to write on.

I wouldn’t mind skipping the ReMarkable Paper Pure on a color display, especially since the ReMarkable has two other devices that offer one. I’m disappointed that it doesn’t have a front light, but in daylight, the Paper Pure’s screen looks brighter since it’s designed to be brighter and whiter than before to look like a piece of paper. ReMarkable says it’s the best white car on the market, and compared to its own lineup it’s a definite improvement. However, the lack of a front light can be annoying if you are likely to use it in a dark classroom or other similar setting.

A big advantage of the Paper Pure over the ReMarkable’s color screen models, and even the older ReMarkable 2, is battery life. These devices typically have about two weeks of battery life, but ReMarkable says the Paper Pure will have three weeks. The battery life is still less than the battery life you’ll get Kindle writerBut it’s a nice improvement.

There are some new ReMarkable features appearing alongside Paper Pure. It’s not just this device, since ReMarkable devices are on one platform, so any ReMarkable device you have or get should include these features. There are two major new features: calendar integration and conversion and sharing.
