When to watch the 2026 London Marathon
Where to watch
59,000 runners are expected to be on the start line on Sunday for the 46th edition of the famous London Marathon.
Last year’s men’s and women’s winners of the 26.2-mile road race through the UK capital will look to retain their crowns. Kenya’s Sebastian Sawi and Ethiopia’s Tigaste Assefa are both widely expected to set new records, with both being close to doing so in 2025.
The course includes London landmarks such as Tower Bridge and Cutty Sark, before heading up the final stretch of the Mall which leads to the finish line just outside Buckingham Palace. Here, world-class Olympic athletes share the same path with competitive amateurs and fun runners.
Defending champion Sebastien Saoi finished last year’s London Marathon with a time of 2:02:27, the second fastest time recorded in the history of the event.
