If you’re a sports fan like me and can’t always decide what to watch, game time just got better.
YouTube TVGoogle’s TV streaming platform is allegedly rolling out multiple customizable views to subscribers, according to reports from some Reddit users. The new feature moves away from pre-set channel packs and lets you choose any channel to create your own multi-view, so you can watch up to four games or shows at once without the need for multiple monitors.
Reddit users reported that you can choose Add to multi-view To watch up to four different channels on your TV or mobile device, essentially allowing you to watch sports, news, cooking shows, and reality TV shows simultaneously. If you prefer to see one in full screen, simply tap on that screen for a larger view.
A few years ago, YouTube TV Testing of multiple customizable views has begunbut we haven’t shared a timeline for when (or if) we’ll see it.
Customizable multi-view seems to be a slow rollout. We don’t know how long it will take for all subscribers to access it television And mobile devices, nor what plans will include them. A YouTube TV representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Although some Reddit users I report seeing customizable multi-viewing on YouTube TV (even for mobile), and others say it’s not available yet.
I was hoping to experience this for myself while watching the highlights from the first round of NFL Draft. While I was able to create a multi-view, I could only select certain channels or a predefined group. With the new customizable multi-view feature, you should be able to choose from all channels.
Xfinity has already launched a Customizable multi-display featureCNET Senior Editor Courtney Jackson takes a sneak peek through the Winter Olympics. Xfinity lets you choose up to four channels to watch different sporting events and zoom to the channel you want to watch in full screen at any time.
YouTube TV’s customizable multi-view feature is sure to come in handy for major sports and events, like awards shows and the NBA Finals.
