Tapo launches an ultra-powerful dual-lens camera kit for complete yard coverage

The Tapo C675D series is a dual-lens camera that upgrades previous models to Full 4K resolution for both lensesallowing it to see almost anywhere. The large top camera has a 169-degree field of view while the bottom camera can track 360 degrees.

The camera also comes with Artificial intelligence detection. This means it can recognize a human, zoom in, and follow them no matter where they go (including in the dark, thanks to night vision).

These features make the camera particularly suitable for large arenas or commercial applications, such as a lot of private scenes, but that’s just the beginning of the long list of features this camera has. In a sunny place, this panel can keep the 10,000mAh battery charged for a longer time, so you don’t have to worry about recharging often.

The Tapo has long been one of my top picks for smaller, very affordable cameras under $50. The C675D represents a significant departure, as it’s one of the largest home cameras I’ve seen, and starts at more than $200 for the complete kit. However, other Tapo features that I’d love to see remain, particularly the free subscription options.

While you can subscribe to cloud storage with this security camera, it also has a built-in microSD card slot so you can switch to more private, fee-free local storage. The AI ​​detection features are all free, too. However, you will need cloud storage for this feature. Otherwise it will quickly fill up your local storage space (which is an even bigger drain on that big battery).

Another new feature that caught my attention is the ability to turn on continuous capture mode. This security mode takes a photo once every 1 to every 60 seconds, then displays them all in a daily summary that you can access.

I’ll soon start testing a model of the powerful new Tapo camera to see how it works, but Tapo cameras are generally reliable performers, despite being smaller and lighter. This line is a huge exception for the company, and I’m interested to see how the latest ones perform.
