Another new ADT offering, launching at the same time as Live Light, is a professional monitoring option It’s called my safety Which allows you to connect to ADT Professional monitoring Centers directly from the ADT Plus app, so you can access them from anywhere, even when you’re not at home.
The My Safety app controls also let you set a safety timer that will contact professionals if it’s not stopped by the end of the countdown. There’s also a silent text option, in case someone can’t talk but wants to connect to monitoring.
You can set preferences, including whether to answer a call or text message. This feature will use a verbal cue like other ADT monitoring features, except that this feature is designed to trigger an emergency response, no matter what else you say.
The good news is that My Safety is free to anyone who’s already subscribed to ADT’s professional monitoring. However, if you I am not currently a subscriberI’m not sure it’s worth jumping into a monthly fee-only situation for this. Many of these features mimic the emergency settings on your phone, allowing you to call 911 or emergency contacts when you have a problem. The biggest bonus is the ability to customize how you start an emergency conversation.
