SwitchBot offers a new version of the small, push-button robot that helped launch the company a decade ago. job The new SwitchBot It is exactly the same as the original product that the company will continue to sell, but it comes with a rechargeable battery instead of a disposable one.
The wirelessly controlled rechargeable SwitchBot can be installed by simply sticking it to a button or rocker switch that is physically depressed using a small lever that extends and retracts. As with the original, the battery can be accessed by removing the panel on the front of the robot. You don’t have to uninstall it completely. But instead of inserting a new battery, the 370 mAh rechargeable variant has its own USB-C port on the side to plug it into to charge it back up.
The rechargeable version is likely to be a more sustainable and environmentally friendly version of the SwitchBot, but there is one big trade-off. While the battery life of the standard version is estimated at up to 600 days when using the robot twice a day, for the rechargeable version, it is just six months with just one tap per day.
