The 178th Grand National is almost upon us, as 34 declared runners prepare to take on the intimidating fences of the world’s most famous horse race.

With last year’s winner Nick Rocket withdrawing earlier this week after a bout of coughing, 2024 champion I Maximus has emerged as the favorite this year. The French-bred bay horse is one of eight horses in the field from the stable of Irish trainer Willie Mullins.

Meanwhile, Panic Attack, trained by Dan Skelton, is widely expected to become the first colt in 75 years to win the four-mile race.

The Grand National is held at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. The horses were prepared to submit to starting orders Saturday 11 April in 4pm GMT Local time in the United Kingdom (8 a.m. PT or 11 a.m. ET In the United States and Canada, and It’s 1am AEST On Sunday, April 12 in Australia).
