Get a look at Sierra’s gameplay in this new Overwatch trailer

The next Overwatch hero is the rifle-wielding Sierra, the sixth hero of the following year Five new heroes They were added during popular online shooting games Talon reign season 1. The day after dropping Hero trailerwhich showed Sierra in combat with Emry and Frigga, developer Blizzard released a gameplay trailer for the damage hero.

Sierra is a mobile damage hero who can change her position in the air using her drone. It appears to have a combination of Sojourn’s basic fire and Freja’s mobility, with some additional grenades on top. Here’s what we learned about her kit in the game’s trailer.

Sierra capabilities

• Primary Fire: Sierra fires her fully automatic weapon. Bullets appear to be projectiles, which means they have a travel time.
• Drone: In the trailer, Sierra uses her drone, which she calls Dorothy, to hover herself over enemies, jump to higher ground and dodge enemy abilities.
• Homing Arrows: Sierra can fire homing arrows. If it lands on an enemy, its next few bullets follow that hero, similar to Juno’s Pulse Torpedos or Halo’s Needler.
• Grenade: We see a few shots of Sierra throwing a cluster grenade at the enemies below her, dealing damage in a small area.
• Ultimate: Sierra’s drone flies forward and deals widespread explosive damage.

What else do we know about the next Overwatch champion?

A strong blizzard brought down First look In Sierra last week, some details in the new artwork seem to line up with speculation that she’s an ally of damage hero Ashe. Ashe’s Deadlock Gang is mentioned in the new trailer, though Sierra is working with Overwatch to try to stop them. We don’t know yet if Sierra has ties to other Overwatch heroes and factions.

Overwatch associate game director Alec Dawson said in February that the next hero will be another damage hero with “A really satisfying skill shot“, which appears to be her guiding arrow.

Although I love a good skill shot, the game has been plagued by champion damage over the past year – especially champions with the ability to quickly take someone out of nowhere. The newest damage champions, Anran and Emre, did not have this issue, but the previous two champions, Freja and Vendetta, were constantly banned by players after release due to their fast time to kill, as well as their ability to constantly surprise enemies. Sierra’s skill appears to be less explosive, which will be a relief, but it’s unclear from the hero trailer exactly how much damage you can expect if you get stuck.

The first season will end next week. The current season kicked off a year-long story arc about Vendetta’s control of Talon and also introduced five new heroes to the roster. The developers have promised another new hero each season throughout the story, and Sierra appears to be moving the story forward as a main character fighting against Talon’s continued efforts to gain power and destroy Overwatch.
