Remix your Google Chrome experience with vertical tabs and immersive reading

Google is rolling out two new features to its Chrome browser aimed at helping you get more done.

The first is an option to see your tabs vertically on the side of your window instead of horizontally at the top. To move tabs, simply right-click on the Chrome window and choose “Show tabs vertically.” This way, your tabs will appear vertically on the side of your window. This way, you’ll be able to read full titles instead of truncated ones, manage tab groups more easily and switch between 10 or more tabs without missing a single tab.

Browsing Chrome using Standard mode (left) will display images, videos, and more visual elements that may be distracting. Reading mode (right) will display only text, reducing distractions.

Chrome is also starting to roll out an enhanced reading mode with a full-page interface. To access, simply right-click on the page and select “Open in reading mode.” This will remove any visual distractions by turning the page into a text-focused interface. Google says this feature is ideal for those who need to focus deeply when working or searching.

While they’re not revolutionary changes to Chrome, they can add up to help you increase productivity and streamline your workflow.
