For the price, the Buds 2A cover the basics and then some. They offer decent (if a bit tinny) sound and 42dB of noise cancellation, along with an IP54 rating and a useful transparency mode for staying aware of your surroundings. They also offer a commendable eight hours of battery life per charge with ANC disabled – or up to 35.5 with the included charging case – and feature four built-in microphones that take advantage of Nothing’s noise reduction technology, which helps boost the quality of voice calls. I can’t say that sound clarity is their strong suit, even though they are, again, a $20 pair of earbuds.
Like the rest of the entry-level earbuds, the 2A also works with the Nothing Using the app, you can adjust EQ settings, adjust bass response, switch between ANC modes, or quickly enable pairing between multiple devices. There’s also a Find My Earbuds feature if you lose them, and you can set a gesture to quickly launch your phone’s virtual assistant, whether that’s Siri or Google Assistant. Moreover, if you are using a Nothing or CMF phone, you can use your voice to access ChatGPT directly through your earbuds.
