Apple’s first foldable iPhone is on track to debut in September alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, according to a new report from Apple. Bloomberg Mark Gurman. The news follows a report from Nikki Asia on Tuesday, raising concerns that the launch of the company’s foldable iPhone may be delayed due to challenges during the phone’s engineering testing phase.
Although the complexity of the device may limit the initial offering, Apple is still aiming to launch the phone around the same time or shortly after the non-foldable models, Gurman reported.
The report says that since the release date is still six months away, the timing is not final.
Launching a foldable iPhone would be a big move for Apple, as it would allow the tech giant to better compete with foldable models from Samsung and Chinese smartphone makers, which have long offered foldable phones.
Apple’s device is said to have some advantages over existing foldable phones, with the tech giant reportedly resolving issues with screen quality and overall durability, along with making the crease less noticeable when opening the device.
