You can now use ChatGPT with Apple CarPlay

ChatGPT can now be accessed from the CarPlay dashboard if you have iOS 26.4 or later and the latest version of the ChatGPT app, 9to5Mac Reports. Apple Recently launched iOS 26.4 update added support for “Voice-based chat apps” in CarPlay, opening the door to allowing you to use AI chatbots with voice features through Apple’s in-car platform.

When using ChatGPT through CarPlay, the app does not display text conversations 9to5Mac — Instead, you can just have conversations with the app using your voice. (Apple Developer Guidelines Request that apps not display text or images as responses.) CarPlay isn’t completely text-free, as there are on-screen buttons to mute and end the conversation.
