We all know that Disney Plus It is the hub of Disney content, both new and old, alongside Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, and National Geographic. While it’s comforting to revisit those classics, the platform also releases plenty of new shows and movies every month, including original series and Disney Jr. titles. Nat Geo documentaries and older library content like sitcoms, reality shows, and movies. You can even find live sporting events on your streaming device. (The Walt Disney Company owns ESPN, after all — you have to respect the synergies between the companies.)
This April, Disney Plus is offering entertainment that will delight fans of almost every genre and franchise. April 6 marks the series premiere of Star Wars: Maul — Shadow Lord, a new animated show set after the events of the Clone Wars, and new episodes will be released weekly throughout the month.
You can also watch new episodes of Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again, weekly live episodes of American Idol, and a Banana Ball game between Savannah Bananas and Party Animals that will stream live on the platform on Saturday, April 25 at 7 p.m. ET.

The newest entry in the Star Wars universe, Star Wars: Maul — Shadow Lord, will premiere on April 6 with two episodes. The animated series, set after the events of the Clone Wars, depicts the Sith Lord Maul (voiced by Sam Witwer) as he plans to rebuild his crime syndicate on Janix, a planet untouched by the Empire. Additional characters are voiced by Gideon Adlon, Wagner Moura, Dennis Haysbert, and Richard Ayoade. The series will consist of 10 episodes, ending in early May.

Narrated by Josh Gad, Orangutan is a Disneynature original film filmed in the rainforest canopy of Southeast Asia. The film primarily revolves around a young orangutan named Indah, as she prepares to leave her family and live independently. The film arrives on Disney Plus just in time for Earth Day, April 22.

The Banana Ball is back and bigger than ever this year! What started out as one team with a dream (that would be the Savannah Bananas) is now a full league with six teams playing their own version of baseball that throws some dancing and some very specific new rules into the game. On Saturday, April 25, you can watch Savannah Bananas vs. rivals Party Animals live from Yankee Stadium in New York City. You can watch the sold-out game at home on ESPN Unlimited or Disney Plus at 7 p.m. ET.
