Soundboks Mix review: A great party speaker

In addition to the rubber balls, there’s a nice physical interface on the side for adjusting the volume and pairing multiple speakers together if you have multiple speakers on hand (I was only sent one mono speaker). Setup includes installation Soundbox applicationPair with the speaker via Bluetooth on your phone and choose what you want to play. It’s all quick and painless, especially for my first time with a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Otherwise, everything is very professional sounding. The whole thing reminds me a lot of the Peavey PA system I use in my music practice space. The top of the speaker features a built-in carrying handle and a strap location (an accessory you must purchase from an aftermarket store, or you can attach to whatever strap you have that fits in the slot). There are also top mounts to slide the speakers onto traditional PA column stands, if you want to use them that way at a party or event.

The grill is replaceable, as is the massive internal battery, which means these things are pretty much indestructible as long as the amplifier and speakers themselves are still working – the battery being the weak point of most portable speakers in 2026.

I threw it around my yard, dropped it from my yard, and generally got rid of it during my two-week testing period, and the thing only needed a little wiping and charging when it ran out of juice. The 40 hours of battery life at reasonable volume is accurate, but you’ll get about eight hours at maximum volume (which is pretty good for this category). If you need to bring some music to your child’s all-day Little League tournament, this is a great way to go.

Soundboks calls this speaker a mid-size, but it has a weight of 21.4 pounds and a medium-sized size CoolerI still call it a great speaker. However, size doesn’t make it so less Portable than competitors from JBL and others; You still need a car or cargo electric bike to take one with you, so what’s a few inches here or there? The fact that this is a rectangle makes it easier to tie than many others, especially with the belt holes and built-in handle that it can be tied through.
