Eufy Omni C28 review: Affordable and fully featured

While the X10 Pro Omni has rotating mop pads, the rotating mop pad in the Omni C28 continuously cleans itself to prevent the spread of dirt or grime to other parts of the house. Both apply downward pressure, but neither can detect the dirtiest places on their own More expensive AI-powered robot vacuums will do that. However, I was happy to see that it was able to remove some of the larger dirt stains in my entryway, although it didn’t get rid of all of them. It also couldn’t get rid of all the cherry juice I intentionally spilled into my messy prep routine Robot vacuum testereven after sending the vacuum cleaner to do a second sweep of one of the spots.

However, the Omni C28 was able to raise its spin mop to a high enough level when it went from mopping floors to vacuuming the living room rug that there was not a trace of moisture anywhere. The older X10 got my colleague Adrienne So’s carpet wet, but it didn’t get mine wet, even though my carpet is a fairly low pile. It did a good job of vacuuming the carpet, although I could tell a difference in suction between this and the more powerful vacuum I’ve tested.

The base station is nice and compact, and includes drying fans to dry the spin mop. This means there is a nice fan noise in the background for a few hours after using this Robot vacuumwhich was more annoying than I expected, but you can easily place the base station for this vacuum cleaner in a less central location in your home so you won’t hear it. You can also set up a schedule to run the vacuum in the morning and finish the drying process before you return home.

My favorite feature of the Omni C28 is that, even at this price, it can still learn multiple maps. Although it can’t climb stairs, you can move it around your home and switch maps in the app to which floor you’ve moved to. This isn’t new for Eufy, as the older, more affordable model can do it too, but it’s nice to see the feature preserved when I’ve tried more expensive robot vacuums that don’t include it. It is very easy to use; You’ll go to Maps, choose “Create New Map,” and then activate the bot to draw the map. Once you’ve created the map, you’ll navigate to that map from the little map icon on the right side, which you’ll label with numbers in the order you created them.
