The best time to view the full moon is the evening of April 1st. According to The Old Farmer’s Almanac, peak illumination occurs at 10:12 p.m. ET. It’s after dark in most parts of the United States, and since the moon is scheduled to rise around 8 pm local time in all time zones, most of the United States should get a chance to see it in peak illumination.

The only remaining areas are those on the West Coast, where the moon will not rise until about an hour after peak illumination. It doesn’t matter much in the grand scheme since the moon will still be completely full. If you miss the full moon due to bad weather, the moon will remain mostly full for the two days before and after April 1, so you’ll have plenty of chances to see at least one full moon.
