Stand-alone cookware and kitchen appliances have largely failed in the United States. While you love cooking robots Thermomix Although it has had some success in Europe and elsewhere, its adoption in the United States has been slow. excellent Smart ovensincluding June, Suvie and Brava, have also struggled to connect with consumers.
Nosh Robotics, a smart home robotics company based in Bengaluru, India, is trialling the commercial launch of smart home robots. One nosha $1,499 AI-powered cooking robot that was seven years in the making, and the company says it “can handle the entire cooking process autonomously: selecting ingredients, frying, plating, and self-cleaning.”
The June Oven was the most promising smart oven we tested. It quietly ceased production in 2023.
I saw it in the preview at CES Earlier this year I spoke with representatives about Nosh One. While CEO Meera Patel calls it “the first consumer robot that really cooks for you,” I wasn’t sure about its potential. Up close, and even with an in-depth explanation from on-site actors, the expensive machine doesn’t seem worth the cost and the space it takes up on the counter, at least for most home cooks.
The Nosh does some things that a slow cooker or Instant Pot doesn’t, which is adding just the right amount of ingredients, cooking oils, and spices from small chambers. But you still have to load the correct ingredients for a specific recipe into the cartridges every time you cook.
The Nosh One launched on Kickstarter for $1,499.
The cooking function is also limited. While Nosh can portion and dice food (with almost no chopping or chopping), and cook and stir food in its built-in bowl with highly programmed recipes so you can walk away while the recipe is being completed, it can’t bake, roast, boil, roast, or steam, making it limited in what it can effectively make.
It’s similar to the Nosh One Thermomix. The Thermomix offers more cooking modes and functions, but it can’t automatically deliver precise amounts of ingredients to the chamber like the Nosh.
If your dinner menu consists mostly of stews, soups, stir-fries and curries, then nooch should be able to handle a significant amount of cooking. Most other foods should be cooked the old-fashioned way.
It’s also big and bulky. Weighing 57 pounds with a 21-by-17-inch frame, it will have a significant amount of counter space, much more than an Instant Pot or slow cooker, both of which perform the same basic cooking tasks, albeit with far less automated functions.
The Nosh One precisely portions ingredients according to programmed recipes, then heats and stirs them until done.
At the heart of the device is NoshOS, a culinary AI system that has been trained on thousands of cooking techniques and cuisines from around the world. Multiple sensors monitor texture, moisture, aromatics and browning levels in real time, dynamically adjusting heat, timing and seasoning as the dish cooks. Built-in machine vision identifies products, proteins and pantry items, allowing the system to suggest meals based on ingredients already available.
Reusable and dishwasher-safe, the ingredient cartridges store and dispense fresh ingredients with “millimetre-level precision.” After each meal, a closed wash cycle automatically cleans the cooking chamber, utensils and interior surfaces.
One nosh is available for Pre-order on Kickstarter Through March 25, priced starting at $1,499, expected to ship in early summer 2026. Early backers receive a free set of ingredient cartridges and access to the Nosh Founders Recipe Library, featuring dishes from award-winning chefs. According to the company, additional accessories, specialty cooking modules, and premium recipe packs are scheduled to be available later in 2026.
