‘Work from home’ encourages global energy watchdog

1. Work from home wherever possible: The use of oil takes away from commuting, especially when jobs are suitable for remote work.

2. Reducing speed limits on highways by no less than 10 km/h: Lower speeds reduce fuel use for passenger cars, vans, and trucks.

3. Encouraging public transportation: Shifting from private cars to buses and trains could quickly reduce demand for oil.

4. Alternative access for private cars to the roads in major cities on different days: Number plate rotation systems can reduce congestion and fuel-intensive driving.

5. Increase car sharing and adopt efficient driving practices: High vehicle occupancy and environmental driving can quickly reduce fuel consumption.

6. Efficient driving of commercial vehicles on roads and delivery of goods: Better driving practices, vehicle maintenance and improved load capacity can reduce diesel use.

7. Shifting the use of LPG from transportation: Bi-fuel conversion and vehicles converted from LPG to gasoline can conserve LPG for cooking and other basic needs.

8. Avoid traveling by plane as there are alternative options: Reducing business travel could quickly relieve pressure on jet fuel markets.

9. Where possible, switch to other modern cooking solutions: Encouraging electric cooking and other modern options can reduce dependence on LPG.

10. Benefit from flexibility regarding petrochemical feedstocks and implement short-term efficiency and maintenance measures: Industry can help free up LPG for essential uses while reducing oil consumption through rapid operational improvements.
