You may also be wondering how to connect other headphones to the transmitter via Auracast. As I said before, Sennheiser’s HDR 275 automatically connects to the system when you turn it on, though it can also break free and connect to your phone via regular Bluetooth to take it on the go. Other options have their own methods; JBL’s Tour Pro 3 headphones let you connect to a specialized transmitter box, while the Momentum 4 headphones connect via the Sennheiser Smart Plus app.
The app is the primary settings hub for both the transmitter and Sennheiser headphones, so you’ll need to download it right away. It’s easy to set up, searches for devices with a single click, and offers basic settings, including three sound modes for options like speech enhancement, virtual surround sound, and a combination of both. I didn’t think any of the modes were an upgrade, instead creating a thinner, more compact sound signature, so I basically kept the system in neutral.
The app can be slow, and I sometimes need to close and reopen it to find devices or control settings. This is a new system, so some of these issues may be resolved with firmware updates, but it’s important to note if you’re stuck with a perfect UI.

My main criticism of the RS 275 package is that the included headphones are quite good. Although it’s fairly comfortable and offers a transparency mode so you can hear your surroundings, it’s not the most effective, and there’s no noise cancellation available. This wasn’t an issue for me while listening at home, but at this price, it would have been a great addition for travel (as is the carrying case). On the bright side, the package includes a stylish (and durable) headphone stand, and the headphones offer a solid 50 hours of battery life.
