TikTok allows Apple Music users to stream full songs without leaving the app


If you’ve ever scrolled through a TikTok, caught a snippet of the tune, and thought, “I wish I could play this song all the time,” then this is for you. Tik Tok and Apple music On Wednesday, they announced their partnership on two new features, Full Song Play and Listening Party. The goal is to introduce listeners Seamless music listening experience Without leaving the social media app.

Apple Music subscribers who discover a song on the TikTok For You page or on the audio details page will be able to tap Play Full Song to open the Apple Music player and listen to the entire track. From there, subscribers to the music streaming service will be able to save the song as a favorite, add it to a playlist on Apple Music and listen to a personalized stream of recommended songs.

When a full song is played, the stream will pay to artists through Apple Music.

“Flicking to the music you love should be easy,” Apple Music co-president Ole Oppermann said in a statement. “With Play Full Song, Apple Music subscribers can easily go from discovering a track on TikTok to listening to it in its entirety instantly, without interruption. This integration not only makes it easier for fans to discover, listen to, and engage with the artists they love, it also creates a powerful new path for artists — turning moments of discovery into deeper connection and sustained engagement in one simple, seamless experience.”

Sounds like a listening party a bit like that SpotifyThe feature of the same name. Fans join a real-time shared session where they listen to the same tracks together and interact live, with songs streaming via Apple Music within TikTok. Musicians can also join and chat with their fans.

The full song play and listening party feature will launch globally on TikTok over the next few weeks.
