Just like last year iPhone 16eApple recently announced iPhone 17e It is an addition for beginners iPhone collection.

Apple isn’t the only mobile phone company offering entry-level phones. Samsung and Google both have their own budget mobile devices.

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE (starts at $650 for 128GB) and brand new from Google Pixel 10a (Starts at $499 for 128GB.) With attractive designs and powerful features, all three phones are compelling and affordable alternatives to their more expensive siblings.

Here’s how the iPhone 17E compares to the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE and Google Pixel 10A.

Presentation and design

Apple’s iPhone 17E has the smallest screen of the trio with a 6.1-inch OLED display. Google’s Pixel 10A isn’t much larger thanks to its 6.3-inch display. The 6.7-inch AMOLED display on the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE makes it the largest ever.

The iPhone 17E also doesn’t get points for its 60Hz refresh rate, especially compared to the 120Hz displays on the Pixel 10A and Galaxy S25 FE, which offer smoother scrolling and more responsive gameplay. However, it will be less clear if you’re coming from a non-Pro iPhone 16 or earlier.

If you want a small, lightweight phone, the iPhone 17E stands above the rest. It weighs just 5.88 ounces (167 grams), which is lighter than the Pixel 10A at 6.5 ounces (183 grams) and significantly lighter than the Galaxy S25 FE at 6.7 ounces (190 grams).

Cameras

The iPhone 17E has only one 48-megapixel camera, compared to the two on the base iPhone 17. As with the 16E, the 17E mitigates the lack of a second camera by using a crop of the sensor to gain 2x zoom.

Other entry-level phones certainly do better on the camera front. The Pixel 10A has a 48MP wide camera and a 13MP ultra-wide camera, while the Galaxy S25 FE has a 50MP wide camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and an 8MP 3x telephoto camera.

All three phones have similar front cameras. The iPhone 17E has a 12-megapixel selfie camera, the Pixel 10A has a 13-megapixel camera, and the Galaxy S25 FE has a 12-megapixel camera.

Price, storage, processor and battery

While the iPhone 16E has 128GB of base storage, the iPhone 17E has double that at 256GB. The 128GB Pixel 10A starts at $499, but its 256GB model has the same price as the iPhone 17E at $599. Samsung’s base 128GB Galaxy S25 FE is a bit more expensive at $650, while its 256GB version is priced at $710. However, you may be able to get the S25 FE on sale from select retailers.

The iPhone 17E is powered by Apple’s newer A19 processor (quad-core instead of the penta-core found in the base iPhone 17), while the Pixel 10A comes with Google’s Tensor G4 and the Galaxy S25 FE uses Samsung’s Exynos 2400 processor.
