After two agonizing defeats, Real Madrid need a win on Friday to keep their dwindling title hopes alive when they face Celta Vigo, a team looking to consolidate their place in Spain’s top six.

Los Blancos coach Alvaro Arbeloa saw his side unexpectedly lose 1-0 at home to mid-table Getafe on Monday, that blow coming after an equally devastating defeat to Osasuna two weeks ago. These results mean that Real Madrid cannot afford any more missteps, with Barcelona leading the league leaders by a comfortable four points ahead of this weekend’s matches in the Spanish League.

However, a return to winning ways today is unlikely to be a formality for the visitors. Celta Vigo are currently on a roll with four wins in their last four games in all competitions, with European Championship qualification now within reach for Claudio Gonzalez’s men.

Celta Vigo will face Real Madrid at Balaidos Stadium. Friday 6 March. Kick-off is set for 9pm CET Local time, which is 3 PM ET or noon PT In the United States and Canada, 8pm GMT In the United Kingdom and 7am AEST In Australia on Saturday morning.
