Unihertz’s new QWERTY phone looks like a Blackberry phone

Unihertz, known for its tablet phone alternatives, has unveiled an evolution of its device with a physical keyboard: The Titan 2 Elite. It’s smaller and sleeker than the (aptly named) Titan that preceded it, comes in the now-on-trend orange color, and looks a lot like a Blackberry.

unihertz Elite teased in January; From the teaser it appeared to be smaller than the Titan 2 with rounded edges. Having seen it in person at MWC, I can confirm that this is exactly what it is. The keys are slightly smaller than those on the Titan 2, and there’s no secondary display on the back of the new device. Like its predecessor, you can use the keyboard as a trackpad, in addition to custom software shortcuts for the physical keys. The Elite comes with a 4.05-inch OLED display compared to the Titan’s 4.5-inch LCD display.

The Titan 2 Elite feels light in the hand and fits remarkably well in a pocket. There is a programmable key on the side as well as a physical SIM slot. Unfortunately, there’s no headphone jack, which was disappointing after I mistook the infrared control at first glance. I guess I can’t have it all, though I’m glad the Blackberry form factor is as well Enjoy a bit of a renaissance.
