Drop Store, which has been acquired by the gaming equipment giant Corsair in 2023has been a haven for mechanical keyboard enthusiasts and audiophiles to discover and purchase hard-to-find gear—sometimes at surprisingly good prices. The company will cease sales after March 25 at 11:59 PM PT, which is also the deadline for redeeming Drop Rewards. After March 31, the site will be available for a limited time to view order history, but all retail functionality will shift to Corsair.
Andrew Williams, Corsair’s marketing director, confirmed Edge Many of the products offered on Drop will be integrated into the Corsair website for purchase. Other select products will be sold on Amazon and Best Buy. Other products will be end-of-life (EOL), especially hardware collaborations including other companies.
When asked if products like Sennheiser or Koss would move to Corsair, Williams would not confirm or deny at the specific product level, but stated that “almost all, if not all, of these products will ultimately not move.” He noted that Corsair, as a brand, has its own headphones and other products. However, Williams said: “Key products that sell well and do well, we will continue with Corsair.”
The Drop team was integrated into Corsair when it was acquired, according to Williams, and the company claims that no layoffs occurred as a result of this decision to terminate the site. Corsair shared that existing orders, including pre-orders, will go through as planned, and that the company will honor existing warranties on the products.
