Obtain Dratini by climbing rooftops in Vert Sector 6
Dratini can be found on the rooftop of Le Nah Restaurant.
The first powerful dragon species we’ll help you track down from the original Pokemon games (Generation 1). Dratini is the base form of Dragonite, a dragon- and flying-type pseudo-legendary, and the easiest to find on this list. To pick one up, fast travel or find your way to Le Nah Restaurant in Vert Sector 6. Once there, face the restaurant, turn right and climb the stairs attached to the building next to it. Once you are on the roof of this building, you will need to turn left and then roll to the roof of the restaurant. This is where you will find Dratini waiting for you.
Now, Dratini is fickle. He will run away the moment he spots you, so you have to be prepared. Save your game before getting close to it and equip a Pokémon that can take it down with a single attack or stock up on Quick Balls and Dusk Balls. I’ve had a lot of success with Dusk Balls in this game, so I recommend trying to catch Dratini at night.
Dratini is a fickle dragon type and will despair if it sees you approaching.
Dratini evolves into Dragonair at level 30 and then Dragonite at level 55, gaining the Flying type with its final evolution. With this dual typing, Dragonite is strong against Dragon, Grass, Fighting, and Insect-type Pokemon. However, its power is not limited to the advantages of writing; He also learns powerful moves like Tornado and Fury that can get you out of a tight spot. It has wide-coverage attacks, such as Earthquake, in its moveset to destroy multiple Pokémon at once. You can also Mega Evolve Dragonite in Pokemon Legends: ZA, though its Mega Stone becomes available after completing Main Quest 32.

If you already have a Flying-type Pokemon on your team and want to expand the range of matchups you cover, capturing a Gible and evolving it into its final evolution, Garchomp, is one of the best things you can do.
You can find Gible in one of the many holes in Wild Zone 8 – watch for his blue fin to appear to show he has spawned. Depending on your luck, you may find one right away, or it may take a few readjustments of your seat to find one among the many Drilbur in this wild area. So, once you spot the blue fin, save your game and head straight into battle.
Gible isn’t skittish and won’t run away, but Wild Zone 8 can quickly become a combat fest that’s difficult to manage. Bring a Pokémon that’s fast or can use moves that deal damage over a wide area – think Water-type Pokémon. Also bring Great Balls, Ultra Balls, and Dusk Balls; This will be your best bet for capturing Gible, since it has a low capture rate like Dratini.
Gible will evolve into Gabite at level 24, and then Gabite will evolve into Garchomp at level 48, so be prepared for a long leveling up to get this top dragon. However, the effort is worth it because adding the Dragon and Earth-type Garchomp to your team allows you to use moves like Earthquake effectively – more so than Dragonite – quickly dealing damage over wide areas, while defending against similarly powerful attacks, thanks to Overall statistics are well distributed. Goomy appears in Vert Sector 9. The easiest way to get there is to fast travel to the Vernal Pokemon Center. Once you get there, enter the alley just before the nearby hair salon and follow the path until you see an arched gate. The gate is located opposite the battlefield and may contain boulders blocking your passage. Once past it, glance towards the bridge below and you’ll see Goomy waiting for you. Now, Goomy evolves into Sligoo at level 40. However, to evolve Sligoo into Goodra, you will need to first train him to level 50 and then wait again until it rains in Lumiose City. You will only be able to evolve Sliggoo in wet weather – try to level up to 50 or more during rain.
Unlike Dragonite and Garchomp, Goodra is a pure Dragon-type and has no Mega Evolution, but its extremely high Special Defense stats make it a great Pokémon. More pseudo-legendary dragon types in Pokemon Legends: ZA
Salamence and Bagon can be found in Wild Zone 18.
Aside from Dratini, Gible, and Goomy, Pokemon Legends: ZA features two other pseudo-legendary-type Pokemon: Bagon and Frigibax. Unfortunately, getting them early is not possible and for the latter, you need to purchase and complete the Mega Dimension DLC story.
But if you want to add them to your collection, the Bagon can be found in Wild Zone 18, which is unlocked after completing Main Quest 30. You can also pick up the Alpha Salamence (Bagon’s final form) right in front of where the Bagon appears, which is a small test that allows you to start using the Salamence right away.
For Frigibax, you’ll need to collect 25,000 Hyperspace scan points, activate a special scan by talking to Philippe in the Rust Syndicate office building, and then hope to create a five-star Hyperspace zone that generates Frigibax. This five-star area will likely have its entire evolutionary line as well, so you can also pick up Arctibax and Baxcalibur.
Both Salamence and Baxcalibur can also Mega Evolve. To get the Salamancite, collect 360 Mega Shards and head to Quasartico Inc. Headquarters. To barter for it. Larvitar can be caught early in the game, but requires some precise movement control. I recommend waiting until you start main quest 16 and unlock the Roto Glide to catch Larvitar. As for Beldum, you’ll need to wait until main quest 35.
For Larvitar, head to the point marked in the screenshot below; It’s located in Vert Sector 2. Once you get there, climb the nearest ladder, then turn left and walk along the roof. Once you get to the end with the boxes, use the Roto Glide to cross the gap and you’ll find Larvitar waiting to be captured.

Capturing the Beldum is much easier, but you’ll need to complete more than half of the main story before you get a chance to capture one. Beldum always appears on floor B1F of Lysandre Labs. After you open the location, head to the room marked in the screenshot to find one. Beldum tends to breed in pairs.
Sometimes, you’ll also find Metang in the same basement of Lysandre Labs. This one is difficult to catch, so make sure you have Dusk Balls on hand and a Pokemon that can affect status statuses like Sleep or Paralysis. You should also try to make a manual save right after you eliminate Beldum or Metang in battle so that you can easily reset it and have another chance to capture it.
Beldum can be found in B1F at Lysandre Labs located inside Lysandre Cafe.
