My wife and I play the best duo games every week. Here are our favourites

As you can imagine, board game testing is a stressful and often stressful experience. I’m kidding; Testing board games is great. However, it is subjective in many respects. I tend to look at certain criteria regarding what makes a board game “good, but…”

  • Is the quality of the board and piece good?
  • Are the instructions clear?
  • How long do different age groups take to learn?
  • How long does the game take to play?
  • How fun? (This is very important.)
  • Can you restart it and it still feels fresh?

Since board games are a team sport, my family’s opinions are used to help me get a test average. While I might love a 5-hour game with 1,000 pieces, my 17-year-old might not. Having a good range of opinions helps me find the overall best games in each category.
